Memang banyak yang mengakui kalau sulitnya belajar tenses baru terasa saat harus memilih tenses yang mana yang tepat untuk diaplikasikan pada tulisan kita, padahal saat menghafal jenisnya satu per satu terasa cukup mudah. Tapi, murid English with RnB yang satu ini berhasil mengaplikasikan tenses dengan tepat dalam tulisannya, lho. Meet Patricia! Patricia sudah mengikuti kelas grammar selama empat bulan, dan tulisan ini menjadi bukti kerja kerasnya dalam belajar tenses 😆. At the end of 2019, my family and I went to Korea for winter vacation. I was really excited because it had been a long time since we went on a family trip. Going to Korea had been on my wish list since I was at junior high school, and I was able to fulfil one of my wishes two years ago. Since my family knows that I really like Korea, they trusted me and told me to make schedules for our trip.
Korea is one of the best countries that flutters my heart. I like Korean culture. Korean people’s ethics are polite and respectful to elders and also strangers like us. When we were there, we could feel their affection through their kindness and politeness. I could feel that they were welcoming us even though we were from another country.
Besides, I also like Korean songs and Korean dramas. I’ve watched many Korean dramas and become a fan of Korean boy and girl groups. Every time I watch Korean dramas, they always have a scene where the main characters eat Korean food. It looks very tempting. I also went to Korea to try many kinds of Korean food and it was as delicious as I saw on Korean dramas. Their food is absolutely amazing.
However, every positive also comes with a negative so there’s a balance. Not every memory that I have when I was in Korea is a good memory. Actually, my family and I booked a hotel through online reservation long before we were there. We found hotel recommendations through an online app. There was one hotel that had good photos and good reviews. That hotel was even affordable for tourists. But when we arrived, which was on our first day in Korea, that hotel was different from the one that we expected. Furthermore, we even had a nightmare and were not able to sleep in peace.
Korean people also have a habit to drink overnight and get drunk. I remember one night, when we were on the street on our way back to the hotel, there was a group of men that was drunk and suddenly yelled at us and also puked in front of us. At first, of course we were shocked but there was one man that looked fine and sober and apologized to us nicely. Because of many bad things that happened when we were staying at that hotel, we decided to move out as soon as possible. So, we checked out from that hotel and moved to another hotel so that we could stay in peace.
Having a trip to Korea is just like a dream. I could not be more grateful than that. Still, my family and I were lucky that we went to Korea before the Corona outbreak. I also had a chance to celebrate the New Year of 2021 and my birthday in Korea.
