By the way, kita kenalan dulu dengan murid yang tulisannya bakal dikutip di sini, yuk. Meet Zaky, seorang pelajar SMP di Bandung. Zaky sudah mengambil kelas grammar di English with RnB selama satu tahun. Menurutnya, makanan eksotis adalah makanan yang kaya rasa seperti satai padang dan siomay. Berikut tulisan Zaky.
Satai Padang
Satai padang or satay padang is beef tongues impaled in skewers. The satay is different since it doesn’t use the normal peanut sauce or sweet soy sauce. The taste is very spicy like pepper. The chewy beef tongue makes the flavor stick in your mouth with a good sensation. The yellow thick sauce glazed on top of the satay is mixed in with a lot of spices, while the satay is char grilled which turns the color to brown. It’s eaten with rice cake that is soft and fluffy white.
Siomay
Siomay is special since it was influenced by another culture but turned into something original with the special peanut sauce. Siomay is a type of dumpling that was influenced by Chinese dish called shumai but was replaced by fish rather than pork since Muslim is the majority in Indonesia. The sweetness of siomay comes from the peanut sauce that’s served with soft fish dumpling in a wonton skin. The color of the peanut sauce is brown, while the siomay can be yellow or white depending on the wonton skin.
